If you're new to the Valley of the Sun you may be hearing a lot about our "Monsoon Season." The summer thunderstorm season officially runs from June 15 to September 15. High winds and lightning hit hard and fast and there is often flooding even if there is only moderate rainfall.
Protect yourself by paying attention the the weather reports and going to a secure location to ride out the storm. Protect your home by keeping trees trimmed to reduce the odds of falling branches. Make sure patio furniture, free standing grills, pool toys and garbage cans are secured and unable to be knocked around by wind.
